Ok, so I know nothing about car audio, lol. My friend gave me 2 almost brand new 12" Infinity Subs and a Sony Xplod 1200w amp, they got stolen out of my GTi a few weeks ago. I liked them for most music, but I love Dubstep and they couldn't handle the Grimy stuff. The subs were literally brand new, he had them for 2 weeks before he upgraded to some kickers. Ive been looking at a single Audioque HDC3 15" or 2 SDC2.5 15s. What would be the best size for the tone drops and wobbles? I would think that smaller subs would work better with the steep tone changes. I want to keep my Sub budget around $300. I know this is the sub forum but I was also looking at the AQ1200D Amp, which seems like it would be perfect for the HDC3 or 2 SDC2.5s. I want to keep the amp under $250.

Thank you

P.S. They will be in a VW Rabbit GTI, then moved over to my 71 VW Bus

I *think* that neither of those set ups ported would fit in ur car, maybe in the bus, but not in the rabbit. You should try to go sealed in your case. Have you looked into the Q series by Fi?

Im at work right now, but I can measure when i get home. the box would be angled in the back to fit the rear seat like most boxes for hatchbacks. Just thinking I have about 3ft x 2ft x 2ft to work with... i will have to get full dimensions when i get home. Would it be bad to have the front wider with the back notched around the strut towers for more volume?

no that would be perfect,

Please tell me your building your box or having someone do it?? I will cry if you put an HDC3 is a prefab //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Yeah ill build it lol Im an Engineering student working as an Intern for the summer. I could even go down another 6-8 inches into the spare tire compartment which would be right under the sub box if I had to, hell, I could even go up and replace the parcel tray if need be.

you can get a solid audio f15d for 200 shipped which is a much more powerfull amp then the aq1200 and the hdc like more like atleast 1500 rms, solid is way underrated i have seen benches of 2000rms

Links would be greatly appreciated, I couldn't find hardly any info on the Solid Audio stuff, and maybe an online retailer that carried MB Quart Products as im sure none of the local places carry it.

btw, they don't have to be 15's, one of my main questions is what size would be best for dubstep with the large and different tone drops. my 12's didn't like it and I'm not sure what size would be best for my application.
