fi q get it with the cooling package and put 1500rms and it will sound amazing in 4 cube at 28hz

the other option i may suggest is have a custom sub made by psi one 15 for exactly what u want.

So now im torn between a Platform 1 PSI 15, Audioque HDC3 15, or a Fi Q 15.

The only problem with the PSI is id have to go through everything where the HDC3 or the Fi i can just order, plus id end up over my budget...

Ok, so I know nothing about car audio, lol. My friend gave me 2 almost brand new 12" Infinity Subs and a Sony Xplod 1200w amp, they got stolen out of my GTi a few weeks ago. I liked them for most music, but I love Dubstep and they couldn't handle the Grimy stuff. The subs were literally brand new, he had them for 2 weeks before he upgraded to some kickers. Ive been looking at a single Audioque HDC3 15" or 2 SDC2.5 15s. What would be the best size for the tone drops and wobbles? I would think that smaller subs would work better with the steep tone changes. I want to keep my Sub budget around $300. I know this is the sub forum but I was also looking at the AQ1200D Amp, which seems like it would be perfect for the HDC3 or 2 SDC2.5s. I want to keep the amp under $250.

P.S. They will be in a VW Rabbit GTI, then moved over to my 71 VW Bus

Dubstep sounds great in enclosures tuned low, (below 30) or sealed application.

I know most hdc3 are ran @ 35+ tuning, so idk how the response will be on dubstep.

If I were you I'd look into some good sealed subs or one good low note monster. I just did an install for a customer of mine who wanted good dubstep in his camaro, we did 4 12" jbl gto4s running off 1000 rms amp

Sounds awesome and box is only ~3.7 cubes for all 4.

well the owners of fi and psi worked together at re. i would get the updated cooling on a 15 put it in 4 cube at 28hz on a mb quart 1500 and be very happy, also do the big 3

big 3 is alternat to battery, battery ground, alternator ground.

yea the bigger the box the lower it can go, id go as big as i can 4 that type of music, the smaller the punchier higher it plays

Go to sound soulutions Audio and look into their equipment as far as subs go.

For the record. Size has very little to do with music reproduction.

Depends on amp. I would go Dual 1 so i could combat impedence rise but then you need a better electrical.
