Car audio in the winter (cold?)

Hey everyone I live in New York and I was wondering if I should take my subs and sub amp out of my jeep and bring them in the house for the winter? In the past I used to leave them in my cars and they didn't break but the more I think about condensation and misc other things about winter the more I am thinking I should probably bring them in for the winter just to be safe.

What do you guys do in the winter with your sub-woofers and amps?

I leave them in and play them like normal...never had a single problem.

never had an issue with them in the winter but then again it never gets colder then 55 but i know plenty of people in here that leave it in just kno on a cold morning to not blast your subs right away let them warm up for a few minutes on low

I have never had any problems. I usually let my car warm up before getting in/playing them.

What temp. are you guys living in? Here in MN it can get to like -15/-20. But yeah as a precaution I'll do low warmup before slappin'

I've heard of some doing summer/winter build setups. Dunno the purpose but that's food for thought.

I actually switch out to my sealed setup since can't exactly drive around with the windows down (ported).

Cold is hard on the gear. And by cold, I mean below zero. I have seen amps have issues, and I have seen condensation damage gear.

I keep my vehicles in the garage, so the inside doesn't drop below zero. And when the car sits at work in below zero, I don't turn the system on.

When cold, the sub mechanics are less flexible. And I have seen condensation in the voice coil result in a short that destroyed the sub.

In extreme cold I don't play as loud as I normally would. Stock systems hold up but they don't generate the same voltages or heat aftermarket can.

I've had one diamond D3 8" spider freeze up for a min or two but no damage.

i'd think condensation is the biggest issue, i've never lost a sub or amp due to the cold specifically, but that doesnt mean it cannot happen. I swap out systems in the winter, but that is only because I have car audio ADHD lol

i always keep mine in and play wile riding, the temps about 5'f for winter.... like above i just warm my blazer before i even play the subs... you should be fine.
