Depends on what you call decent.I've seen installers get paid anywhere from $7 an hour on up.

i made 20k a year starting at circuit city, then bumped up to 24k at best buy, and now do commission work at a shop but i average $20/hr and except for summer i set my own hours. i probably make 30-40k a year. Now tint is where the moneys at. i wish i could hone my tinting faster but we will see. i know guys that just tint pulling 50k a year

It depends....do you want to run a shop...if so, hell yea you can make it well. Id say the most money comes from a good location and a custom shop. Tinting does make a shitload of money. You can get a tint cutter for like 4-5000 bucks. It updates the cars every day into its database. You enter in the car you want...enter in the windows to cut, and it cuts them out PERFECT every time. I was almost thinking about getting a loan....do you realize how much money you could make with one of those...you could tint 10+ cars a day for 150-220 depending on what windows and what tint they want....if you have 2 guys that can tint...thats $$$$$$

Yeah, tinting really is where the $$ is at, cause when someone actually does a good job for a decent price, word travels fast.

It's because there's so many hack-job tint guys, tho. It makes demand that much higher for someone who's great at it.

For some reason, anynone with a roller and a squeegee thinks they can install tint.......

If you know how to sell and can do it well, you can make a decent living selling about anything.

Wouldnt wanna be an installer for life, doing custom work on your own...might be good pay. The rest would be pretty shitty pay and would prolly get old eventually.
