Its a shock sensor that senses vibration

Its like a rubber band with a weight in the middle that has a magnetic pick up below it and when vibration causes the metal weight to move, the pick up senses it, causing the alarm to go off

They are pressure activated. The sound waves from the sub cause pressure to be exerted on the alarm sensor.

Well i wasn't sure, i always thought the way alarms go off is by the tiny tremor(which could possible be not a tremor at all but the actually sound waves:emb you feel on the ground when someone rolls by. But today after class as i was walking to my car, some beater with a system( roadmaster im guessing seeing all i could hear is the rust falling off the frame) set off a car alarm near me.

Not just subs, Low rumbles from exhaust can set one off thats set too sensitive. Anything low that will cause more pressure than noise

with my new setup, i set alarms off 200 feet away in a starbucks and davidson drugs parking lot from the main road that I'm driving on //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

has happened multiple times with cars from the same parking lot. so everytime i get near there, i have a habit to turn it up for a few seconds and everytime i see blinking lights and hear the sirens.

thought id share, cuz it only happens in that area so often. weird

until i hear it when i turn it down at the near by light, then see the parking lot and the blinking lights haaa
