Hey guy i cant seem to get my 8g wire to fit in my push terminals so i was wondering if it ok that a little bit of the wire is not totally inside the terminal. And this is the only wire i have besides 0g which i know wont ever fit lol. And no i dont want to buy 10 or 12g because im an impatient **** and want bass NOW!!

It's fine if it isn't all in. Or you can just cut a bit off the end, I did that to my speaker wire when I had to get two 10gauge's into the puish terminals.

Your fine, just make sure the way the wire stick out doesn't allow the + and the - to touch, or you'll have a short.

cut your 3/4 inch off or whatever length you wanna expose then keep running your knife in circles cutting a few strands down at a time till you get it a LITTLE smaller then twist it up good put it in terminal

i made 8g fit in W7's ... it's possible for just bout anything lol

Ah i probably should have said im trying to fit two runs of 8g into one terminal. I tried twisting them together but no luck. I may just put one in through the front and other through the back?? Would that work?

As long as it's getting a good connection it'll work fine.

Alright i'm sure that will be the easiest way to go and to make sure all the wire is inside the terminal. Thanks.

do you realize that at 1 ohm and a length of 10' you'd need to be running more than 3000w to push the limits of 8 ga spkr wire? With 2 8's (5 ga) it's around 12000.
Hes probably in the same situation I am, trying to wire VC's in series or parallel which require two wires in the push terminals. I highly doubt he's just running double 8's to the amp, the would be senseless //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

And for the record, trimming a few strands off a wire to get it to fit in a terminal won't affect its current carrying capacity in the slightest.
truth

unless you trim 90% of the wire away...that half inch or whatever it is will have no problem carrying the extra load, and as a piece, that half inch will probably still have more capacity than the other 3-10ft you've got of the full gauge

i have 10ga from amp to sub.

doesn't help but doesnt hurt. and it has the wow factor.

people are like "dammmm you need huge *** cables for everything" and i'm like "mmm hmm..."
