Can't fit speaker wire into sub terminals.

I had to trim like 3 strands off each and then solder the parallel wire around the other wire which totally defeats the purpose of using 10 gauge but what ever I bought the wire I'm going to use it lol.
Cutting a few strands off at the end of the wire doesn't defeat the purpose of using the larger wire. This is a common misconception because people take the water in a pipe analogy too literal. But like said above, there is absolutely no reason you need that large of wire, 12ga would have been overkill, let alone 10ga.

80 bux for connectors no thanks lol. Yea I just trimmed them down and used a lot of solder.

Ok old thread I get it, the question I have though is what's the use of solder on tinned wire? Isn't purpose tinning copper wire to prevent oxidation.
