Can't fit speaker wire into sub terminals.

I have 2 Sundown SA-12's so I went and ordered 10 gauge speaker wire and it is not even close to fitting into my sub woofer terminals not to mention I have to wire down to 1 ohm so I have to wire in parallel what do I do?

Use 12 gauge. It should be more than sufficient or solder banana plugs onto the wire and just put those into the terminals.

I had to trim like 3 strands off each and then solder the parallel wire around the other wire which totally defeats the purpose of using 10 gauge but what ever I bought the wire I'm going to use it lol.

i use 12 in my sa's off my 2200. it works just fine

just trim the ends that wont fit.

80 bux for connectors no thanks lol. Yea I just trimmed them down and used a lot of solder.

Hey thats the same exact wire I have LOL.. Not using it though as I have sa-8's and if I have to cut 1/4th of the strands then whats the point of using it so I bought some 12awg. I only needed 10ft total so its not like I am out a bunch of cash. But I guess if you wanna save a few dollars then do as you did.

I am using some stinger 12awg in my SA-10 and had to trim off a large chunk of it, beefy 12awg....And the wire still carries more, right up until the very end, where it's already making contact with the terminal.

It actually doesnt defeat the purpose at all since larger gauge wire is to transfer current easier over greater lengths so cutting off a little at all wont matter since the rest is intact...
