Cant decide on a sub

What is a good 12" sub for around 150-175. Ive read about alot of them but still cant decide. I heard the XXX was really good. How much would i expect to pay for 2 of them. I got a 2000w (peak) (1000w rms) american legacy amp right now with 2 POS pioneer 12's and that just isnt cutting it, i can barley turn the amp up. So im looking for something that can handel some power but won't tear up my wallet. Not too concerened about sound quality but dont want something that sounds like complete ass either. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We still need to know what amp is having the issue, make and model. Some mono amps only have 1 preamp input and the other is a output.
