Well heres my story.
Just recently traded in my car and got myself a truck again. Loved having a 4 door F-150 and never wanted to go back to a 2 door truck. Well after having to fight to get a good system in the F-150 I decided to go for a truck with a little more room and got a Dodge Ram Mega cab. Over the past few weeks I built a box and installed a RE SX12. I bought it from a member on here but never heard it on 1500w. Hell I never had a 1500w amp before.
Well I got my HU installed, the sub amp and the enclosure. For some reason I couldnt get the 37v to set the gain. It was always lower so I keept the gain down to avoid clipping for a few days till I could get my hands on a scope.
When I did I just set the gains and made sure I didnt have any flat tops.
I have been pretty happy with the sound but it still just didnt feel like 1500w. So the other day I broke out a new volt meter and I was only getting 11v out of the amp. I decided to look into the settings on the HU. Well the sub output was set to -4. I turned the gain down and turned the sub output to 8 out of 10 and my volts jumped to 28v. Turned the gain up until I hit 37v and then switched out my DMM for one with a scope and no flat tops.
Now this little 12 slammed but I couldnt hear a **** thing out of my factory speakers. Still have front and rear factory speakers, running of the HU. Checked the settings for the other speakers and wouldnt you know it for some reason they were down to -10. Turned them up and now it gets loud as hell and sounds clean.
My comps should be getting here this week and they will be going in this weekend along with a second amp to push them.
Now for some reason, eventhough its loud and clean, I want louder and cleaner. Does it ever stop //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
