First look at the W7s. Than think about 2 W6s, wired at 4ohm.
I still don't see how JL is pressuring anyone into buying their amps. 4 ohm subs are common and can be ran on any amp. A 1.5 is slightly different but JL isn't the only one to have 1.5 subs. But then again, any amp that's 1 ohm stable will do a 1.5 without issues. I just don't see it as some kind of conspiracy like you are.

Hardly. I've used JL for over 20 years. I'm aware of their projects. I'm just not ignorant to the fact that they aren't doing anything to "pressure" people into buying their amps because of 4ohm speakers. Lol. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

What post/thread are you reading? The OP clearly stated his amp is 1ohm stable and has 2 subs that are dual 4ohm coils. When wired properly they will be 1ohm. I see nothing about him and a 3ohm amp. Learn to read.
There's a few other sub makes that have 1.5ohm subs and also sell amps. Are they being "sneaky" like JL? Please. It makes sense for a sub manufacturer to sell an amp that would mate well with their own subs.
They don't have 1ohm amps. The old W6s where popular in 3 packs, I think they where dual 6s.
It's a noob trap any salesman can deploy. Did they do it for that reason? Who knows. Does it work for easy sales? Hell yes.

Exactly, a friend of mine actually bought JL's 3 ohm amp after I told him it wasn't necessary, he said " I'm just going to do it , 3 ohm with 3 ohm will run much better". I couldn't change his mind and JL made another sale. I have JL subs and yes they are pricey but I truly do like the sound and I stop at the amps, I cant see paying that kind of money for an amp when I can get similar performance for half the price.
