Can w6v3 be wired to 1 ohm?

On the JL website it states that the w6v3 can run at 8 , 4 or 2 ohms. I have 2 subs and would like to wife them at 1 ohm, would this be rough on the sub? Can they handle it ? The amp is 1 ohm stable ...

Uhhhhh, wut resistance coils?

If it's a dvc sub, one can't be wired to three different impedances (unless you didn't use a coil for one)

Seriously?

If the amp is 1 ohm stable and you have good electrical, you can run it at 1 ohm. If you're not vastly overpowering the subs or clipping terribly, it's not harder on the subs to run them at a lower impedance....

I know your learning but this is like basic simple of simple stuff here...

Find out what voice coil woofer you have

Then go to 12 volt woofer wiring website

Type in how many woofers, what voice coils and it will show you the wiring options and how to wire it so you can't messed it up. Follow the picture

I wired them to 1 ohm , I know how to wire to impedance , just wonder if it's ok for sub since it doesn't state 1 ohm on JL website

After a lot of googling I wired them to 1 ohm, apparently 2 can be wired to 1 ohm safely, thank fellas

As long as your amp is 1 ohm stable, you have nothing to worry about.
Thanks bro.

Must have had dual 4s then.

3 which can go down to 1.5

I went through this when I bought my first JL and put it in a 2 ohm amp - they do fine on 2ohm amps I learned -

They only come in dual 4. JL makes it where you are pressured to use their amps.
How does that make one use their amps? Dual 4 is something any amp can handle. Now if you meant dual 3s or 1.5s you might have a case there. But their amps are designed to take any load 1.5 to 4 to put out the amps rated power.

I'm not a JL fanboy but I don't see how they have some evil plot against anyone....
