Cant get my amp to work (its not busted)

Hey i got a 2000 Chev silveraydo

4 gauge wire running from battery to amp and my inline fuse is 4 inch from battery

remote line hooked up to sony cdr series deck

ground is to my passenger seat bolt that we scraped down

i cant get the amp to turn on when its hooked up properly but if i take the remote line and split it in 2 and put half to remote and half to the power it it turns on, and plays bass through the sub.

What am i doing wrong i have wired a couple stereos in my life never had one that had me stumped for 2 days lol

i tried hooking up the amp without the inline fuse and with and checked the 2 40 amp fuses on the amp

You're not getting power from something. If when you bridge the power and remote the amp turns on it means you're not getting power from your remote wire
