Hey guys, I know I will get flamed for running two Tempests in boxes like this but I want to know if there is a way to save them. I was going to build my own box but I have to revise the plans because I could not get it in the trunk. I hurried up and bought two of the boxes below so I could start running them in my car when I discovered that one has to be sent back to adire. So right now I have one in my car and one empty. I was wondering if it would be worth it to try and put a port in the box or do something to save it/them?

Looks like it's particle board which is a bad start, and they don't look very big. From what I hear, tempest love lots of space and with ported you need even more....I would take them back and build a box. You can do it, just plan a little with space and everything.

its a tough call w/ that pic.....but it appears to be mdf......so u know....both are sawdust glued together.....mdf is just more compact.....
particle board is more along the lines of large chunks of wood glued together... check lowes or home depot for particle board and that is what you will find, and particle board is a pretty flimsy material compared to MDF, plywood, or OSB. that box is definitly MDF, but all of those pre-fab boxes are made with thin MDF(or LDF, which is cheaper/worse)

not worth attempting to port that box, you would be better off returning them for however much you spent them on, and investing that money in MDF... dont know what you paid for those boxes, but you could probably several sheets of MDF and make your own boxes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

naw dude just get me the correct Measurements this time i will draw you up another....

guys moral of the story be sure when you give a depth measurement it will actually go in the trunk opening heheheh it does you no good to say you have 30 inches of depth but 30 inches won't go in the trunk opening.
