can speaker wire be used as power wire?

well im trying to extend my wire harness of my headunit and i ran out of 16 gauge power wire. i only have 12 gauge speaker wires left. so can i use speaker wires to extend my wire harness?

look dude.. metal is metal.. it has load ratings.. you can do w.e the hell you want with it but if you exceed the load warnings you will blow fuses if you don't have fuses you will make a fire..

if you really need primary wire, hit me up i got plenty in 18 gauge and 14 gauge.

load warning = gauges?

look.. wire has volt and amp loads it can carry.. it has specs.. with 12 ga wire you can't run an amp unless its pulling like 20a or less.. or you will melt it and or cause a fire..

Ya dont use skinny speaker wire for power wire for an amp, the fire isnt worth the $20 cost of a 4gauge amp kit
