Yes.

Sound can rip apart a bridge.

Find the resonant frequency of something and if you apply a high enough SPL, you will obliterate it.

Most of it is theory, but only because we lack the technology to produce the kind of sound waves needed.

Keep in mind that just over 194dB, the waves of pressure no longer behave as sound waves. Rather, they behave as shock waves. It is quite possible to die from a shock wave; a sound wave is certainly capable of causing injuries, but I'm not sure that there are any documented deaths resulting from such a phenomenon.

yes...according to one of my textbooks, if you stand next to TNT while it goes off, you'll die because of the spl

While I was deployed in the middle east, we would detonate improvised explosive devices that were found. Being at least a half a mile away, I could feel a thump in my chest that felt stronger than any car stereo I have listened to could make, I couldn't imagine being 50 ft away.
