Can Someone Model my Sub Box?

I elongated and shrunk the slot port on my prefab box.

14"x18"x36"- 3/4 mdf.

2 optidrive 1232d's.

orig port dimensions 3"x12"x12" deep.

new port dim: 1.5"x10.5x20" deep.

What does the frequency response look like? before/after??

Sounds a little lower to my ears. A slight little port noise too.

Both boxes are around 3.6ft^3. First is tuned to ~39hz, second to 27-28hz. The second port is too small, which is why you're getting the port noise. If you have the room, go for a bigger box. Something like 4.5-5ft^3 for the pair tuned to 30-32hz should work well with those subs, since they tend to like larger boxes with low tunings.

Which setup did you like better?

i like the lower tuning. Van rocks pretty good on 30-40hz test tones. I would like more under 30hz and more sound level on music. What port dimensions would you suggest for ~26-27hz tuning?

Or is it not recommended with my subs?

Giving them 600/pc I know they can take double.

So long as it's still extending as high as you need it to, tune however low you want. Build a new box if you're wanting to get some more air space and tune lower.
