Can my car take the abuse?

So I plan on upgrading my current system. I'm going to do two sundown E10d2 at 2 ohms.

I'm trying to decide which amp to buy depending on what my car can take electrically without ruining anything. I drive an 04 jeep liberty sport. I have a poopy battery in it now and no idea what amps the alt puts out.

I am doing the Big 3 this week. And upgrading to either 2 or 4awg power wire depending on the amp.

The amps are:

Hifonics BRZ1200.1d

Hifonics GLX1400.1d

Mb Quart ONX1.1600d

I want to run the subs to their potential it I do not want to jeopardize my cars electrical.

I read and saw that people said replacing the battery would help and is cheap. What's a good cheap one? I would rather stay away from a h/o alt because they are expensive. I know capacitors are crap and second batteries aren't needed necessarily.

I already have relatively noticeable dimming with my two jbl gt-5s at about 500wmrs at 4ohms now.

What is my best solution here?

Sears Die Hard Platinum is a good AGM battery, buy the biggest one that will fit under your hood. Good warranty and you can buy and service them anywhere in the country.

That + big 3 should be fine for 1000W class D amp unles you're very abusive

You should be running @ 160a factory alt..I am 99% certain the dimming you are experiencing is from the battery choice you use. I had the same issue in my wife's ride on 1200w rms (1800w total rms audio power with mid& bass amps), I upgraded the wiring (big 3) and installed a deep cycle AGM battery up front (Kinetiks HC2000) and no more electrical issues since...and this was 5 yrs ago. I recently sold the Kinetiks for 1/2 what I paid for it (to help out a friend)and bought a Optima Yellow Top, and still no issues.

I would do this at 2 ohms on those subs, they are underrated quite a bit:

MSW | Car Audio Stereo, Car Subwoofers, Car Amplifiers and Speakers

ps, Sears Die Hard Platinum is a good AGM too and carries a 4yr warranty, FYI.

+1 bre amp is a good amp for the cost very hard to beat at that price

I run a 130 amp alt and I can do around 1000 rms and I don't get any dimming. Gotta be your battery chief. Upgrade it, do the Big 3 and use some good 4 gauge wire and you should be golden.

If you are getting dimming off a 500 watts, there is a problem somewhere. Maybe your ground, maybe gain is set wrong, but something isn't right. Do your big three, make sure all of your ground points are well-prepped. Hate to say it, but many try to skip this... terminals on the ends of all of your power/ground wires. A really nice battery up front will probably be fine. Make sure its a good one if you go single. And just use 0 ga cca, instead of 4 gauge ofc. Its about the same price, but will handle about 100 more amps.

Considering it is 135 amp alt....not at idle..... Truck probably uses 30-40 amps continuous..... Say it has 90 amps at idle...- 30 amps for normal vehicle use. Leaves you 60 amps. 60 amps = 864w at 14.4 charging.

You are not going to be able to sit and idle without dimming at 1000w rms. I don't care what battery you have.

In the case of the amp why wouldn't I just get the Mb quart? It's almost $100 cheaper and only 100w less at 2ohms
I only suggested a better amp than those you had mentioned that is within a decent price range. The BRE is higher up the food chain, in relation to other Maxxsonics products. The one I mentioned was a steal at $230 and I have not seen a Quart 1600 for less than $180...$50 bucks. Personally, I expect to spend a minimum of $200 for a decent amp of any kind...but I know not all of us have the same expectations. The Quart will work, and yes, if you found one for $130 bucks, snatch it up, at least they are held with a higher regard than Audiopipe.

ok i have a quick question about the big three. i cant find a bolt that i can loosen up on the engine block. how am i supposed to do this if its nearly impossible to loosen the bolt? hahaha

Get someone with some balls to loosen it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif
