Can I wire like this for big 3

Ok the big 3 is considered, power Wire from bat to alt, - from batt to frame, engine block to chassis.

Here's my question, can I do it like this.

I have a mechman 270 alt with ground post.

Ok I done the + from batt to alt already

can I run a cable from the frame to the ground post on the alt then another cable from the same ground post to negative terminal on battery.

Wouldn't that take care of both the battery - to chassis and the chassis to engine block since the factory alt bracket is attached to engine block anyways...

No, I tried it and got really bad voltage flucuation, just do batt to alt, batt to frame, neg post on alt to chassis but dont' use the same bolt as your batt, use the factory one or someting like a strut tower.

you got the alt positive to battery positive covered.

the question is on grounding only.

the ground post on the alt is unnecesssary - but you can take it to the frame where you ground the battery. Engine block/****** to chassis is sufficient. You have a lot more conductive metal on the engine than you do the one ground wire. Also, note that the engine itself grounds through this jumper - all of the engine-mounted electronics, spark plugs, etc. need a ground path also. I prefer it to go from block to frame.

Battery must ground directly to frame - short as possible. --- And don't use a strut tower, that's a horrible location --- leave your suspension out of this ---

If you need to find a good ground location - look under the battery tray on the frame. A supplemental ground to the body is also common, but only in addition to the frame.
