Can I use Home Theater RCA's in car.........AND some questions regarding setting up X

It's the opposite of what you would think.
Set gains by ear if you don't have a scope. Listen to things, and don't push equipment too hard. If things get really hot and/or smelly, that is bad.
ok.

Over the years I remember guys saying that they have their amps turned up like a quarter of the way or something. Back in the day and being a noob back in the mid 90's, we didn't really know a lot but we learned things from guys who had been in the game longer. We learned not to turn up the amp all the way , what to listen for, ect.

so pretty much now what would you say would be the consensus with really good amps, would most of them and most guys not even have the amps turned up half way because of the quality and power of the amps they will produce good clean power below half, and half or over is where you might run into problems?

And looking at my manual for my crescendo amps which just came in yesterday, the 1500.1 F midrange/monoblock that I'm going to use to push my soundqubed HDs310 2 ohm sub, ( amp is 1500 x 1 @ 2 ohms), I know i have to turn the subsonic filter and the lowpass all the way down, but there is also an input switch that says Low/Hi. Should that be on Low?

ok.

If they knew what they were doing, they were getting good clean signal and maximum output with gain up half way. Then they just told noobs their gain was only half way up, to make it sound like their amps were not even at full power.

If they didn't know what they were doing, they could have still been clipping. If a headunit makes clean power of 8v, there's no reason to turn the gain up a bunch. You can still clip a signal if your gain is set at the minimum amount..

Ok, second question that you missed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Not sure. Is it high/low input sensitivity, or is it high/low input voltage?

Try both at low volume and see what works best. If the manual doesn't explain it, I definitely can't. I have not owned that amp
actually i might have been looking at the wrong amp in the manual. It appears the one i have for my sub doesn't have everything that the s1500.1 has. I have the s1500/1F.

the 1F is a midrange/midbass monoblock but i will use on my sub. 1500 w @ 2 ohms, I just have to turn the low pass all the way down as well as the subsonic filter.

In what case, say in a 2 amp system and say where I have 2 amps of same brand but different models, in what case would you not need to run 2 sets of Rca's from the front and just run your amps off of each other? Hence both amps have inputs and outputs

If the amp's filters do not alter the RCA output signal, that's fine.

If the outputs are specifically for strapping, filters are applied.

strapping?

did you understand the question about running one amp through another? Instead of having 2 Rca's running from the HU?

Yes, if the outputs are not for strapping, it is fine to run another amp off of the outputs.
Or, you can get some cheap RCA Y-splitters
yeah i was wondering for my knowledge. I already have 2 Rca's ran to the back, just have to run one more.

actually gotta replace one so gotta run 2 new ones..

ok.

The amp actually does 1050W at 2 ohms, not 1500. Why would you turn LPF and subsonic filter all the way down?

Are you aware that there is a S1500.1 and an S1500/1F? The 1500.1 puts out 1050 x 1 @ 2 ohms and 1500x1 @ 1 ohm.

The 1500 1/F puts out 1500x1 @ 2 ohms. The 1/F is a midrange/midbass monoblock and I liked it because of the power @ 2 ohms for which I have a soundqubed HDS310 2 ohm.

I inquired about this before hand in using the 1/F on the sub and crescendo said it can be used on a sub but to turn the lowpass filter all the way down and the subsonic filter as well. Then I would set the sub at the deck to 80 Hz.

Ok, I see. I'm having trouble understanding the filters on that thing. Subsonic and LPF all the way down doesn't sound right to me. I'd contact crescendo, just to make sure.
Actually I emailed crescendo and that's what I was told when informing them how I wanted to use the amp. I am going to contact a few different dealers though as Crescendo is hard to contact lol. They take a long time to get back to answering emails or phone calls. So I will verify from a few dealers though like i said, I was told that via email through crescendo a few months ago
