Can I run just regular car batteries in the back??

I have 4 big marine batteries that I have in the bed of my truck.

I just wnet to a local interstate store and asked for 4 matching refurbished batteries. Got them for like $35 a piece and 2 years later they are still holding strong.

Are there better batteries on the market? Yes

4 big deep cycle batteries for $140, that is hard to beat.

There not going to spill because they will be in boxes bolted downand there not going inside the truck there going in the bed of my truck

DO IT, there are no fumes off batteries but hydrogen. And if you cant stand that then your a ******. People love to tell you to not do it b/c the are mad about spending $300 on one battery when you get the same thing for $70 @ wal-mart (for the most part)

Not quite. The CA Batteries are MUCH superior to the other ones. However, the other ones will work fine. Lead acid batteries are to avoided inside a car, which is frequently where the batteries go - on a truck bed, it's not so much of a big deal.

Yes i know they are better (discharge rate, build quality) i said (for the most part) but if you need a solid electrical backbone 120ah from walmart for $70 is pretty good deal... not to mention wal-mart replacement warranty.

also they are fine inside a car as long as there is decent ventillation and you have a proper battery box to prevent spilling acid.

Look into a Batcap Powerpack. It would help solve your problem...

Outside the cabin, you will be fine. Look for something with high aH, DO NOT put them in the cabin, those that say you can not get sick must not have ever tried it. I did, I knew the risk, did it anyway....Took some time to actually get sick from it, but it was a bad week once it got to me.

I have never heard of a case where the batteries fumes and destroys something or someone passes out from gas or they explode and any other that other crazy crap you hear. Tell me any of you honesty have?

Yup, there have been plenty of cases where batteries have exploded or melted in close quarters because of lack of ventilation and a source of ignition.

To say otherwise is dangerous and ignorant...

Man... I used to talk a lot of ish about Interstate when I used to work for my Dad (He has a Marine business, he supplies Interstate batteries and a hardcore dry-cell kind. I forget which brand. But it's expensive but is guaranteed to last AT LEAST 15 years...), but they're not bad batteries for the price. If they weren't lead... I'd put one in my trunk.

I wish I had Pictures of what Marine batteries did to the hatch floor of my escort from 90-93..they were even vented and held in with angle iron. rust rust rust. Ate through the wood floor ate some of the iron and was starting on the floor metal.

its not going in his cab...its going in his bed...i have done it before and i would do it again...you will be fine

x2! i thought about it for like one second! then thought if a wetcell battery was meant to b in a cab then it would have been done millions of times and there would not be dry cells!
