Can I run dual DVC's at 2 Ohm?

Hey all, Im going to be getting my CDT HD1020's in a few days and Im trying to figure out how to wire them. Is there a way that I can run two DVC subs into 2 ohms on a mono amp? Please let me know! Thanks!!!

On the subs are they Dual 2 or 4 ohm?

Well, that depends on the impedence of each voice coil. By looking on the CDT site, it appears as though each coil is 4ohm......which would mean no, you can't get a 2ohm load with two of these subs.

you could also just run one voice coil on each sub and achieve the 2 ohm load.

your not going to hear any difference in hooking only one coil up verses two.

Be warned, using only a single voice coil in a DVC speaker usually will void the warranty.

You're joking right?? Because only using one VC changes every T/S parameter, box requirements, motor strength is cut in half (only have half of the reacting force), etc etc etc. Not something smart for the average person to do.

i only hooked up one vc on my hcca when i pluged it into the wall. check out the video my HCCA

my suggestion would be get a diff amp, get diff subs, wire them 4ohm, or only use 1 sub.
