Lanzar OPTI Drive OPTIX2B Crossover

I plan on running two 8 ohm tweeters and two 4 ohm mids. It says it is 12 DB slope...would I need two of these then?

I'm going to be crossing my mids from 80hz to 3khz. The tweets are going to be from 3khz and up.

In the specs it says 2 way active crossover.

You can run active with it, but Lanzars only good stuff is their Opti subs and amps. I wouldnt run them for processing. And having a fixed 12db slope isnt going to give you the options you want when running active which is the reason you run active to begin with unless you can change the Q from the crossover or the HU.

Id look for a used Audiocontrol 2XS. They have module chips you put in them to change the slope I believe. Ge Off Me has one for sale.

If your on a super cheap budget, but dont want used Id look at this:

O2 has some great SQ from what Ive read. It also has the 12db slope though which will most likely be standard in a cheap crossover anyways.

Or just get an active capable head unit. You can grab older Eclipse 8V units for under $200 all day long.

^ Is the easiest way. You will have all your configurations at your finger tips. You will have more EQ options, more slope options, and more Q options.

Active head unit doesn't sound like a bad idea at all. Do the Eclipse head units have USB and such?

CD7100 does for sure. I think the 5100 does as well. Not sure about the 7200MKii dead head.

Alpine W505/H701 combo or there are a few Japanese models available that do it. I know another is an Alpine xxxxJ or something and another is an Eclipse 55305CMT or something like that. Other than that no. There are a bunch that have time alignment though. If you run passives then you wont need active capable unless your planning for the future.

Active capable HU. Amp with crossovers that can be set to full. 4 channel amp for a 2 way front stage, 6 channels amp for a 3 way front stage. Other than that yes an active capable HU with all the crossover and slopes is all you need.
