Hifonics Brutus bxi 1210D - 12" kicker CVT

My question is I have a hifonics Brutus bxi 1210D amp hooked up to a 12" jl audio w6v2. Pushed very hard and never turned off at all. But now, Need the trunkspace so I sold it now I'm looking into getting a 12" kicker CVT.

Will my hifonics amp push the kicker to it's full potential without getting hot or turning off?

Is this amp too powerful for this kicker sub?

The amp is way too much for the cvt. Keep the gains down low and you will be fine.

Do I have to change the control from the amp or just tune it down from the bass controller it came with?

Should I reconsider and just not deal with this cvt or will it actually push it to it's full potential?

The amp will push the sub ine, but you need to retune the amp with the gain knob on the amp itself. I'd still keep the w6 though. Much better sub

Oh yeah I love my w6 to death but unfortunately it's too loud for my 2 daughters and I have no trunk space . Need the trunk space and I don't really bump at all now that my girls are in the car alot. So I don't mind getting the cvt. I just want a lil thump in the car u know. Not extreme bass like the w6 but enough to feel some bass u know? Do u think that makes sense

Why not build a smaller box for the w6 and cut back gains to your new liking?

This is one of the reasons they built a bass controller. You can get one for an amp for like $20, its a little nob that you mount wherever is convenient to you and you just turn the bass level down or up. What kind of car do you drive that doesn't have trunk room because of 1 w6? I can tell you this, that w6 sounds WAY better than the kicker.

Put that CVT in a 1.5cuft sealed enclosure after speaker displacement and you'll be just fine.

... You have the Brutus 1200D - Put the gain no further 3/4s of full-tilt.

You just said you have a Bass Controller - So USE IT!

Low Pass Frequency on the amp should be between 30hz - 45hz

Bass Boost on the amp should be no further than 1/2 way of full-tilt

Sub-Sonic Filter should be left alone - All the way down ( You're running sealed )
