Can I run a fused Distribution block for grounding 2 amps?

Ok here is my current setup in my mustang:

I have a 4 gauge power wire coming back to a fused distribution block. From there it splits into two 8 gauge power cables (around 2 foot). These go to my 4-channel & mono amp.

Right now I have two 4 gauge ground wires (around 2 foot) for each amp.

I want to see if I can use another fused distribution block I have laying around to ground these two amps to one spot. One reason for this is because I want to make the cables longer so i can re-locate the amps without spending a bunch of money.

Would the following be possible?

each amp has 8 gauge ground to distribution block, 4 guage from distribution block to metal?

(4ga to 8ga power, 8 ga to 4 ga ground)

Thanks

You can use 8g, but if you have to buy more wire anyway you might as well go with all 4g wire for your ground (unless your amps don't support 4g).
