does anyone seem or worked with these alts before? i'm looking into buying one off ebay but before i do that i want to know if they really put out 170 amps. last one i bought threw ebay was supposed to put out 170 amps only put out 100 amps but it was a different company i can't remember the name.

The Funky Pup of alternators would put out a bajillion amps, but if I were you id buy a well known quality name alternator.

They put out rated amperage and CS was good since I was local but like just about any other alternator manufacturer they can be hit or miss.

I've bought some before and they worked fine...I'm not sure how to test it myself...so I just took their word....I know one of the 300a's held of fine pushing 4 MA HK 4000D's...

Those alternator amp rating are like watts and amplifiers (always over rated)

170 amps will not fit in that stock size case, however the 90 amps it dose do, will more than likely do what you need, for the price
