Can I keep my stock CD changer and change out the face?

I'm not a car audio techy! I have a thirst to change my stock audio but not sure what i can do.

So I have a 6-disc changer that is stock, and I have a Motorola Droid Bionic. I want to know if there is something I can switch to that would mirror my display. I've seen the head units that can be detached and still function. That would work awesome since i can mirror netflix and what-not for the kids in the back seat.

I would love to understand more about car audio so that i can maximize my system.

Any suggestions?

I'm not looking at spending a small fortune. Just want to revamp the cheapest way!

Short answer: no.

Longer answer: mirroring the display from your smartphone is technically Sony's feature, at least if you literally mean MirrorLink. Sony eSupport - Compatible Devices Equipped with MirrorLink™ Feature

Your phone is not supported by this feature, plus it's pretty old in terms of smartphones.

I don't know what you mean by "the head units that can be detached and still function".
