can i install an alarm even though...

can i get a car alarm even though my trunk wont open? i got my car broken into about 1 month ago, n they messed my trunk up so i have to get the lock replaced or somthing, but the trunk wont open at all. so i was wondering if i could still get an alarm installed?

In most cases, opening the trunk isn't necessary for an alarm install; but it might not be possible to hook up a trunk switch to the alarm.
