Can I Do Better Than Polk MM6501's for 200.00?

granted thats primarily run off of head unit power. amplified i'm sure they'd be just fine. I put 2 sets of MB Quart ONX 216's in my Dodge Nitro running off a MB Quart REF 4.50. I spent around $250 for everything including amp kit, extra speaker wire, and they sound great.

I'm thinking it's a physical issue or an installation issue in that review. Everything else I've read about the MM6501's has been great.

Was just curious if there was a "sleeper" in that price range that I should be considering.

Be mindful of where you are reading reviews from.

In that case... any sugestions in the 180-220.00 price range? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
You have to demo stuff man. Every speaker has its own sound. Look at Image Dynamic for that price range. Try to hear them installed playing what you listen to not a sound board

Neat. Good job recommending speakers no one has heard from a brand that isnt known for building sq ish gear, and are very likely off the shelf chinese gear //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You are right, not many people have heard them, but I respect Taylorfade's review of them. I don't think Murph picked some random off the shelf chinese gear to push, I have no proof otherwise, but I doubt you have any proof behind that statement either.

Unfortunately, there isn't much in my area to demo.

The components that I have heard that really knocked me out, were far out of my price range... HAT and the German DD components.

OK //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Nice choices.. The image dynamics suggestion was a good one, are you ok with buying used? If so, I would browse the DIYMA classifieds, they generally have some good deals on nice, gently used gear!
I've heard ID's and I wasn't blown away... but I don't know how good the install was either.

Unfortunately, I've been burned several times in the past buying used... so I'm pretty gunshy there... a couple of times I was burned by well known and respected members //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
