Can i be louder and better sounding than my 18''hdc3 while being in a smaller....

Hey guys ive got a 18'' tc9/hdc3 in 6cubes at 32hz...im looking to be at least just as loud and possibly better sq while hopefully having a smaller box or at least no bigger....the 18'' is currently only seeing 1250rms off a audioque 3500 at 4ohms... i would be able to use the full 3500 on whatever i do from here but would love to get a little more space back in my explorer.....what do you guys think size wise...sub wise..if i could get away with no more than a 4cube box after displacement that would be awesome!!

Two 12s wont be louder.. four tens is pretty much the same thing cone wise.

Id shoot for three 12s, or two 15s in small boxes (SA-12s, or LVL4s+ on more power).

Or.. do a single 15 in a good box, yea?

this will be strickly music at a tuning of 32-34hz...not a fart box or any thoughts of comps...but they need to take the 3500 constant daily for say 1-2hours drive time....

And why not? Just because there is less cone area doesn't mean it can't be louder. A friend of mine had a single sa-12 doing a 50 legal in an explorer.

Not likely daily. Wont be near a "sq" sub either.

Your not thinking about rise. The subs wont see 3500 constant daily. I wasn't talking about a fart box either. My teammate has an 04 explorer and changes setups all the time but they are all daily setups.

ya well i dont doubt the 150 with a 12 in the explorer but not a daily setup...i wouldnt mind 4 10's but 4 of anything gets expensive..this is also going in a 03 explorer

It was a daily setup tuned to 34hz peaking at 44hz. He's also had two 15s burping a 55 and street beating almost a 54

If I had to recommend some subs, I'd say two IA DP 12's in 4 cubes or smaller after displacements.

my single 15 was on 4600 watts daily and didnt get warm, so 3500 isnt a big deal with the right motor, granted the sq may not be what your looking for, i have it in a sealed box now and its wickedly clean, and if your looking for an sq system in a smaller box than you may look into running sealed
