calculating woofer sag

when i get my tax return for kicks i want to build a new box say .8-1cf SEALED downfiring but after reading about some spiders not being able to deal with the moving mass and gravity im a lil worried.

1. its gonna be for fun and yes i have had MANy people telling me not to downfire and went ahead to build the ''typical sealed box'' front firing in the 1.3 cf range. Its alright and does what i expect but will downfiring make that much of a differnce a lot of ht subs i have seen downfire.

2. No frills easy sat morn project i can tackle myself

sub is a alpine type S

amp is a dayton audio plate amp 250 watts @ 4 ohms wired to 4 ohms to the dual 2 coil sub

vas is like 66 L i think last time i checked

Adire Audio had a technical white paper that covered this very issue. It should still be linked on their site...I don't have the direct URL anymore.

Needless to say it's not going to be an issue, unless the suspension is very weak.

Indeed, the suspension would have to be extremely weak and or the cone would have to be very heavy. Either way you shouldn't have a problem with this. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
