i've been told by a VERY reliable source that the jbl amp is rather finiky and breaks easily.

ok cool, I have never owned one, installed afew, saw many in competitions but I will take your word for it, I was always disappointed at how dirty the output was

not in the long run, the qualioty and fit and finish is much lower

yeah a buddy of mine claims his phd has 1 more power than my d300hc and sounds better too running a pair of audiobahn 15"s.
