There is no fuse on the outside of it so i guess it must be inside... what size fuses does it have?

i owned a a7hc and cannot remember if they where external or not but its a safe bet to use between 90 and 110 amps of fusing..

It needs an external fuse, probably no more than 80 amp.

It probably came with the amp when it was new.

I have a similar amp (US Acoustics 2300...2x300w, 1x800w @ 4ohms) that also requires an inline fuse holder which the manual states the amp came with, but since I bought it used its long gone.

i guess i have no clue what u are saying, whats "it probably came with the amp when it was new" mean? what are u referring to?.... doesnt there have to be fuses on the amp somewhere? Is there some kinda of other safety mechansim it can use?

You put a fuse holder like this

inline on the power cable, a few inches away from the amp itself.

You can find that kind of fuse holder at any car stereo shop, or online.

yea an inline fuse on the power wire.......if you didnt have one then you and your amp are fecked

inline fuse? i have a 125 amp fuse for my 4 gauge power wire... its near the battery. is this what u mean?

I had 150a on mine, Those are very underrated amps.

well, i have my gain at 3/4 and bass boost at 8-10 and my hu on loud and sub out put all the way up and only then will i get say 800-1000 out of it, but maybe thats because i have a stock 105 amp alt? im thinking of upgrading to a 160 amp alt. Wouldnt this make a big difference? cause maybe im just not feeding it enough juice, i fear sending a clipped signal.

those amps had some shitty preamp sections but when you gave them a 5 volt signal you could get 1300 @ 14 volts..

you can get away with a 125amp fuse..

ther is NO point in fusing twice on the same conductor..

if you do one within 18 inches of the battery its going to protect you wire from starting a fire behind the fuse..

fusing at the amp will add additional ampacity and your wire is sure to catch fire..

if there is no built in fuseing in the amp no need to fuse it.. the only realy reason they recommend external fusing is in case you reverse polarity othwise the fuse @ the battery will do its job...
