Stock electrical, rather worried.

I drive a 1995 Geo Prizm... My dad replaced the alt awhile ago but I am not sure the amps on it. Probably whatever they come stock with (70 or 80).

I will be running a speaker amp (300-400 watts) and am curious as to the size of amp I should get for subs. I don't currently have any subs, and want to buy the amp first. Otherwise, what would be a good idea to beef up my electrical system BESIDES doing the big 3 right now. Battery in the trunk? Someone was suggesting 1000 watts, but there is no way my stock electrical system will handle that.

Wrong, it can handle it, just not very well. put a dry cell in the back, and u will be fine

Any suggestions? I don't want to spend a shit ton on another batt for the trunk. I mean, I want to spend enough so that my system will function properly, but not gear it for 4000w.

Also, is there a guide how to hook up a second battery? Because I don't know how, and I don't necessarily understand the concept behind it. Thanks for the help guys.
