cactus 7k daily OP.

Also as for pics, RD has them on the site I think.
And for hoods, do you like composite hoods?

Also the 383 would be able to do that

Someone posted a pic, but it's a little hard to see some details. What's a composite hood? Is that a rice burner thing cuz if so I aint interested. I meant a harwood with like a 4" cowl so I can have the carb and hi-rise sticking up above the hoodline if it won't sit under there were you can't see it.

I could get the machine shop I use to do a 383 for me to spin that high but honestly, the extra 40 ft lbs probably isn't worth the extra $$$ to do the block properly (I have a block already) to clearance the 383 rotating assembly. So just gonna put good parts in this 350 with some pop-ups and vortec heads with a high rise... will likely have to retard my timing a little or run octane boost with 93 to get it not knock but it should spin high depending on the cam, the headwork, and should put some really good HP numbers from 5500-7500 rpm, enough that the car will really move, it's only 3500 lbs. not as heavy as it looks....

I know the RD guy is here, I welcome him to comment on the D9 amp. I think it's a great board, it looks a lot like the same stuff and same design as in the 40.1 and so many others and if so it's one of the better implemenations of the big zenon design I would say. Does good power and seems to hold up fairly well to the vibration.

The D9 plays daily at very low impedance with proper voltage.

Ive had them running at .35 each for daily for months. They have never went into protect. We have guys competing with them that are rolling them at 1/8 ohm.

Compared to to 40.1 many people have did drop ins and clamp tests. Im sure you can find more info on it on usaci's forum.

the d9 is built off the same platform as many others. The biggest diffrence is the quality of all the parts combined.

We used the best parts zenon could source, from the choke filter to the fets. Its is the same as we did on the d5.

They can take alot straight out the box for daily and comps. Power is clean and the amps do pretty good on durability and being able to drive them very hard without issues.

Not a "ricer" thing. I dont think they even make hoods for ricers. But these are the people making my 2"inlet scoop and 4" cowl for my truck. I called a tech and he was very knowledgable. Also building up a 383 would be cheap.. Just DIY

Two dual .7 ohm subs wired to .7 final then strapped so .35 ea im sure there is a good rise but 3250s and 5750s both went into protect shortly were these have never went into protect and they have been running the same way for three diff dual 15" boxes and the new dual 18" box

Well, I don't know how much difference some better components would make in the performance, not sure if it's clamping enough difference to be audible, but I do see it's got a lot of caps, and they are probably good ones, and that's really all I can see, but I know this design, yes, it's the same as in the 40.1's and MANY MANY other amps and that's not a bad thing. Those work well, and they are repairable (which is important to some people, not just me). Yes this board likes low impedance, higher voltages are okay too, and because the board is fairly small, and the components are compacted into this amp that vibration isn't the worst on it, as the board is stiff. This same design is used in other amps that don't look the same to the untrained eye, but I know they're the same and the boards are wider and those fail more often.... too much board flex.

I am going to say this again, and someone can argue with me if you really want to... These amps don't die from low voltage. People are always talking about how they think they killed their amp with low voltage.... It's just not true, every ****ed single one of these type of amps that have come into my shop have ended up with parts falling on the floor when I remove the spring clips... usually there are black/blue marks on the main board where the mosfets legs arced back over to the board during some serious board flex, and the mosfets shorts from the surge, goes 0 ohms internally and causes the power supply to see a dead short and POOF smoke rolls out of the amp.

I can say that I have no problems with the internals of this D9 amp from RD, it's the right design in the right package. What is the length of the RD warranty on this amp?

The point i was trying to make is the d9 and d5 have the ability to play at lower impedance's daily then our last amplifiers like the 5750 and 3250's and the return rate is alot less.
