Wanting to know how well suited these would be for daily operation. I've heard from a couple people on Termpro that the RD 7500.1 wasn't good fro daily use and that most 7k boards are sensitive to daily pounding.

I'm assuming it has something to do with people not having the proper electrical which then in my case isn't an issue.

So any advice would help.

It has more to do with too many output mosfets being driven by a weak little drive circuit.... I hate any of those design of amps bigger than 16 outputs. Yours I believe has 24. I worked on one recently, it blew up again, and again... junk I gave up on it. I think the drive circuit is inadequate and the components on the board are too heavy and the vibration causes damage to the board and the mosfets in very little time with daily use. Will destroy the amp. DON'T mount that bad boy to a sub box whatever you do, unless it's like 2" thick and don't flex any..... Just my $0.02.

Stetsom would be a better choice for large power in a daily setup. I don't know of any others out there that are LARGE amps like 7K that aren't the same EXACT design as what's in the Cactus 7K. Standard Zenon type design. Little weenie drive board with 4 x IRS21844 IC's make the outputs work. Not enough to support more than 16 outputs IMO

That's the info I was looking for Chris. Thanks a lot bro, saved me a couple grand! I'm not to fond of Stetsom, so how about a sound digital 5000.1? 7k at 14v.

I know our 7500 is not for daily use. We have a bunch of guys who do it anyways and are just fine and never had a problem then there were others who had problems.

I blew the fets in one myself and i had 11 group 31s and 3 mechman alts.

We have also stopped using the standard zenon pcbs that they have been using for years and started using new ones they have since bringing in a new engineer, like the d9 and d5.

We are being very carefull on the d13, we will not release it until it is stable like the d9 and d5.

So i agree the 7500 like others are way to touchy for daily and are a pain in the as s to repair. It is much easier to just replace the pcb when they go down.

The newest version on the 7500 is slightly taller to help cooling and a couple other changes but still not as stable as the d9.

Personally i felt if i carge a guy 1500-2000.00 for the amp should not be touchy. I had about a dozen left and it took a long time to sell them because i would tell people i woundt suggest them and tell them of the problems but several guys still wanted them for the comps and i sold the rest.

Also when we came out with the d9 we didnt really need it anymore since the d9 does almost 6k @ 14v and approx 10k at 16v. Plus the d9 can play at very low ohm loads daily and not have any issues.

I think after reading this. No one will be interested in any zenon based 7k amp.

Alot of the bigger 7k + is not very good on daily use

1-most people dont have the eletrical to support it

2-same as Chris has said .. the driver card will not support it
