bypass info

since i cant use directechs i need some help. i need to know what bypasses i need for a 2005 trailblazer and a 2004 grand prix. will the 1700g work on both of those?gotta order the bypass today so i can have it by the end of the week for the installs.

What brand? Id highly recommend the ones from bypasskit.com. DEI just took them over..

Trailblazer: GMDL-BP, this will take care of trasponder and doorlocks. If for whatever reason you dont want doorlocks, you can use just a straight GMBP.

Grand Prix: PKU-GM. this will only do transponder..

right on i will have to try one out, possibly on the grand am i am goin to be doing in a few weeks, i already ordered the 1700g and then a 556u.

cool.

the GMDL-BPs are great and so reliable, and work for the majority of GMs out there now, jsut grab the data wire at the OBD2 connector and then your usual ground/constant/trip (and locks from starter). Doesn't get easier...

I dont think those gm's use transponders, should be passlock II. Just get the 1700g, its a dei product, uses dei wire colors and does (lock, unlock, factory arm/disarm, doorpin, dome sup, and passlock bypass.

passlock II is what i meant. same idea... its just in the collar.

just use a 555L on the grand prix, then you dont have to worry about loosing a key... i dont even think a U will work on that car

edit: nvm, just looked at directechs and it said you can use a 555gw or a 556uw..

lucky you have directechs. i gotta find a way back in there. might be paying someone some money to get me registered. but ehh its not my car and he knows he will loose a key so he is cool with it.

passkey III can be bypassed with data, whereas transponders in fords, nissans, and other require the key. I wouldn't use the 556u in a gm.
