Just feeling sickly upset that i just spent alot of wasted time and munnies installing a new system just to see (and smell) my subwoofers melt...
(2x) Audiobahn AW1206T 12" Dual 4 OHM Subs rated at 1100 Watts RMS
(1x) Power Acoustik A3000DB Mono Amp rated at 3000 Watts RMS
I wired the system in Parallel.. just as the manual listed for taking a 1 Ohm load to two 4 Ohm speakers. They played for a little while but i smelled something burning. When i had pulled the subs from my box it was too late.. the voice coils were melted and smoking. The terminal wires were black and cindered. Both subs seemed to blow like that simultaneously. Now the only sound i can make them play is a rather unpleasant crunching melody when i push them in and out. Needless to say im rather reluctant to replace the subwoofers until i can trace the source of the problem. I could really use some direction on where to troubleshoot from here.
Any help/advice would be GREATLY appreciated..
Thanks in advance
