Well, I gave my mom all the money I had and she is going to "take out a loan" for me. I'm buying an $8,000 car... and wondering something.

She'd be using her credit card. How do I give the seller the money from a credit card?

Also, let's say I had $8,000 cash and I got a ride to go get the car... is it legal for me to drive home? Does he let me drive with his tag or what?

Ask your bank about the credit card check before you use. Make sure they don't consider it a cash advance and give you the wrong APR.

What you need to do is, before you even leave with teh car, is call your insurance company and tell them you have a new car for your policy. They'll ask you basic questions, color, make, year, model, ABS, etc. That will at least give them a record of it. Then, assuming Vic gives you the title, have him sign it and for price, write in "gift". When you get home, or do it in orlando, go to the DMV, and have the registration and tag from your LHS transfered to the blazer and put the title in your mothers name. The reason you put gift as the price is to avoid extra taxes the state will impose. Do all that, and you should be good.

Funny story though...when I got my free miata after my acura died, I drove around with everything unchanged for about a week. I didnt have a gauge cluster cover, the speedometer didnt work, my tag was off my acura and it only had temp isurance at the time. I got pulled over for suspision (whatever the **** that means), handcuffed and sat in the back of a cop car for an hour while I tried to explain everything to the retarded cop...

Just bring your registration with you, have Vic's cell phone number just in case, have the title with you, etc. If the cop asks, just tell him you just bought the car and are heading to your DMV to get all the info straightened out. The only reason I was pulled out and handcuffed is because of my previous record. You wont have a problem...
