only 2 layers? I used 2-3 layers of 60 mill RAAMAT in my install. I now have vibrations from everything that isnt deadened. but be ready to lay down 3-4 layers of that stuff IMO. Maybe I wsnt overkill, I also used closed cell foam over the deadener in my truck.

x2, it took 2-3 layers in the trunk, and im finishing 2 layers on the doors. Have fun putting 4-6 layers to even get close to the same effect. Problem is everyone trys to cheap cut their way. Remeber sound deadening isn't easy to get off once u put it on (unless it sux and just falls off)

I appreciate all the insight and advice. I might just wait a couple weeks and save up and buy some real deadener.

Dollar for dollar the Raamat will be more effective, but if it is free use it on the spots that you don't need it to stick all that well. In other words, use the free stuff on the floor of your car, but you are going to need a lot of layers instead of just a couple.
