Bunch of Questions About Speakers and Amplifier Help

I'd say just set the gain at around 3/4 for the 100w speakers and around 2/3 for the 75w. As for wiring the speakers, if they have a 2 ohm impedence, then you just hook up pos to pos and neg to neg.

That doesnt really make much sense, because how would I set the gains seperately for the front and rear speakers if they are being wired in 2-ohms, from front pos to back pos to amp?

Maybe someone can make me a pic/graph of this?

NVM, I looked it up. With a 4 channel amp, you will be running each speaker on its own channel. Run the fron speakers on the "Front" channels, and run the rear speakers on the "Rear" channels. Not that hard to understand. There is no special wiring to worry about. Just wire the positve and negative terminals on each speaker to the positve and negative terminals on the amp. It's really very simple

I still dont get it because how can you wire up 2-ohms on the speakers? The way you described it, sounded like wiring in 4-ohms, basically, both front speakers on front channels of amp, and rear speakers on rear channels, with pos in pos and neg in neg.

Wouldnt 2-ohms be wired with left front pos with left back pos to amp, and left front neg with left back neg to amp, and the same thing for the right side speakers?

if they are 2ohm speakers.... not 4ohm .. when you hook them up just the normal positive and negative to each channel.. they are a 2ohm load. You dont have to wire parallel with 2ohm speakers to get a 2ohm load.

Oh, so its automatically in 2-ohms if they are 2-ohm impediance speakers? That clears alot of stuff up. I thought it was 'supposed' to be wired in 2-ohms, or at least thats what the other person made it sound like in the beginning of this thread.

That makes things easier for me then.

So, Phoenix Gold over Hifonics ZXi4406 amplifier? Anybody?

Like I said, very simple. I still say go with the PG. I think you'd be more likely to have problems with clipping with the Hifonics, since it isn't rated produce as much power and is overrated anyway.
