I have to ask ... did you get to play with that JVC unit a little bit? If so, your thoughts?

i didnt have any problems with it. it is simple to use, loads MP3's real quick. has the aux input on the front (i like alot)

the internal amp clips out at like half max volume so an external is IMO - a must. it has 2 preouts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif wich im not incredibly fond of, had to put the rears to the sub amp, then use the outputs on the sub amp for the rear channels on the 4 channel. but it all worked out.

so far, no problems. im not a fan of flipdown\motorized faces, but it has a nice display and its simple to use.

eve tho the remote is lik the size of a quarter //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif (keychain one - can be handy, but is eaisly lost lol)

i cant say its bad, because its not. not in the least. and its got a 2 year circuit city warrantee //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Good to know - I definitely like the aux input on the front and I like knowing that the MP3's load quickly. My 9813 has terrible MP3 loading times.

my 9827 loads MP3's just as quick as the JVC unit, and IMO- its quite fast. specially with 500~700mb on this disc. i compared my loading time to GCAdidas' 9831 (iirc) and mine was significantly quicker.

but i REALLY like the aux input from the front alot, and i wish more units had that to be quite honest. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif

WOOOO REQ! actually posted finished and installed pictures :p
looks freakin awsome!

i will be copying your idea :p

one question. if u where to do it over again would u point the tweeters UP a touch?
lol how about aiming / listening to it before you glue it? lol

sorry is your name req?
thanks captain obvious.

Nm req. audiolife has a point.
dave knows a hell of alot more than i do. but yea, thats what i did, and honestly, you can swivel them, so it dosnt really matter. his car sounds great, putting them in the A pillar might have worked better for staging, but it was 10x more complicated because id of had to run the wire thru the door grommet, and up to the A pillar spot. much eaiser keeping it all in the doors.

i left them how they were because of the angle that happens when the door closes though. thats why they have that cool 'neck' area to them.

but if you try and make them, try and keep the filler that you are using to a BARE minimum, just enough to make them look natural. the more filler you use, the better chance there is of warping the plastic, and maybe even breaking the filler off one day.

req wanna build me some ???
lol. give me some money and i will do anything you want //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif
