So I have been scoping around this forum for a while now, actually got a lot of my questions answered previously just by reading other peoples detailed comments. Still, being that im about to try to install a system with one of my friends I want to gather as much helpful information and tips as I can before start. Last thing i want to do, is have my car taken apart and realize im missing a simple piece that anybody else would have known i was going to need to install this stereo...

So that being said, here is what i currently have laying in front of me ready to go.

  • Pioneer GM-D9500F (amp for speakers)
  • Sps-610C (front speakers)
  • Sps-610 (rear speakers)
  • Alpine PDX m12 (amp for subwoofers)
  • 2 x 12” W6v2-D4 (subwoofers)
  • JVC KD-AR959BS Arsenal Series In-Dash CD Receiver (headunit)
  • Rockford Fosgate RFK1D 1/0 Gauge Dual Amplifier Install Kit (0 gauge wiring kit for 2 amp system)
  • Metra 99-2009 Single DIN Installation Multi-Kit for GM 1990-2012

other than that, my main last investment is a box.. still debating which route to go with that but im getting close to pulling the trigger this week on it!

SOOOOOO... my question.. after seeing what i have ready to go for the install, what do you see that i might still need? connectors im forgetting, more wiring kits if i need it, any reccomendations on how to install or how to wire correctly, anything else? i was told i dont need to change speaker wires i can just put them through the stock wiring and it would be ok. by the way, car is a 2008 chevy trailblazer... Ive also been told capacitor wont do much, but big 3 upgrade will be necessary soon if not immediately... any input on that??

If anybody has any input or advice for me please let me know. If you have any questions for me please let me know.. Like i said, ANY AND ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED!!!!!!!

I can hook you up with a custom enclosure. Local to you as well. Very affordable. Pm me if interested.

Get ripped off on what?... I dont know what to list, thats why i am here asking people what else they think i may need to have ready to do a proper install..

Writing him a message as we speak. Did you get a box from him?

That would be if you didn't already buy everything you listed.too late for that I think.also consider a good agm battery up front to replace the stock battery.they just tend to work better for audio.in my opinion.

First of all... AWESOME SUPRA!!! we have one locally out here in LA who comes out to the races all the time, it is a monster of a car! second of all, i got most of those parts for cheap so im not too worried, i know the speakers will be way better than stock and im excited to hear these 2 w6's with the pdx m12!!! I will definitely look in the agm battery though right now

Yup Did a box for two 18s. Been through a lot of abuse with 110 lbs worth of subs (and now 180lbs with new subs) and its holding up real strong. If you are ever in the OC area, hit me up for a demo.

BTW, you kinda missed out on an amazing deal last week Join that FB group for local deals.

This was for both 12W6v3 subs and an amp

DUDE..... that is a ridiculous deal!. My subs were use for 260 total with no box, and my pdx m12 amp is brand new and i got it for free so luckily i didnt go stupidly over budget with that amp! Im definitely down to hear that sound system if im ever around there! hopefully he can build me a nice ported box for my subs, maybe even make it flush. well see!

some small install stuff you might need.

solder and soldering iron and butt connectors/heat shrink for strong and clean head unit connections

Some push on terminals for the speakers

A big 3 wiring kit. You can build your own kit with six 1/0 ring terminals, heat shrink and some 2/0 welding wire if you want quality for a lot less since rockford stuff is expensive.

You'll need a crimping tool that can crimp up to 0 gauge wire. If you dont have it, you can just bring it to CSCstang when you pick up the box and he'll crimp it for you.

You might need speaker baffles and some weather strip foam to form a seal up the soundwaves from getting trapped inside your door panel and prevent the rear soundwave from leaking out and cancelling the front wave which causes poor sound quality. Here's a vid on it

thank you for the reply! yeah i pretty much need everything you put on that list... didn't know it would be that complicated of a process with all these materials in the door, i was going more for a disconnect old speaker, connect new speaker install haha. Some one told me that for speakers and headunit wires splicing and twisting wires in a butt connector would be fine :/

This is something else i plan on doing. Any advice or heads up before i do it? I plan on fitting both my speaker and sub amps in the tools compartment and installing 4 computer fans into the cover. 2 will be on one side ******* air in, 2 will be on the other side pulling air out. No lights on the computer fans though because i want to keep it more hidden and less flashy.. any advice from anyone whos done something similar??
