OFF topic but need wiring help for my footwell lights!

So to do my footwell lights, im going to use a fuse tap, and get my powersource there, now here lies my problem, I wanted to use the dome light fuse so that when my door is open, the lights in the car turn on...

BUT this is my dilema,

I want to be able to control the on and off of the lights, meaning if I hit off, and decide to open close the door, the leds will not turn on, and if im driving, and i decide i want them ON, i want to be able to turn them on without turning the dome light on, I dont want to only be able to have the lights go on when the door is open, and I don't want them to always be on,

Sorry if i'm complicating things, but any help would be appreciated as I am a noob to wiring.

I may be wrong, just trying to help. I think I follow what you are trying to do... You might be able to (with dome light) have a switch in the circuit so in the on position it acts normal and in the off position it would stay off. Then from another power source wire in another switch to your LED's. You would want to make sure you are not feeding power to the dome from your other power source and vice versa. If you are not wanting to have to mess with switches or just do not want them then you may have to get a relay with multiple contacts to achieve this.

SW1 = Dome

SW2 = LED's

SW1 ON SW2 OFF normal operation

SW1 OFF SW2 ON Dome off but LED's on.
