i want to build my own d-blocks instead of buying 50 dollars worth. first off , a simple one. I want to build one to split off my remot wire 5 different ways. 4 fans and 1 remote to amp. how should i go about buiding this one? where can i get some small set screw terminals to use, and can i use a pc board like REQ did with his fuse block? if this works out, i will build one to split my 0 gauge out two ways.

i think ive come across a way for my remote wire one. for all of 5 dollars. im just wondering where to get a 0/gauge terminal and 2 4/gauge ones.
Why would you need 0awg or 4awg cable for a remote lead?

I just used an Archer (Radio Shack) 30a SPST relay which is triggered by my HU's remote activation output for all my remote turn-on duties.

dont power 4 fans off the remote lead, get yourself a relay. But anyways, you dont need a d-block for 16-18guage wire... just fuckin twist em together and tape...
This is a good way for things to short to ground and go *ZAP!* sometime in the future when the adhesive on the tape gives out.
Crimp caps or heatshrink ftw!

could i sort of do the same thing but i just need to split it into one 4 and one 12 to power my relay could i do this.

i have a connector thing could i just cut the 4 ga

strip it put it in the connector with the 2 sides of 4 gauge then put the 12 ga in there to and then clamp it down

anyone

If you need just a power source for a relay, connect it from the amp + terminal lead and plug into the relay.

As mentioned above - for 18/16 gauge, use a 12 gauge connector and stick 3-4 in it and crimp down. No block required for that. 18 gauge is not exactly carrying a lot of current and if you kill a fan its probably cheaper to replace then fusing all those lines.
