Building first box this weekend

Ok heres the deal...I just bought some 10'' atomic ap/spl and got the demensions for the box i will need. 4cubes tuned at 34hz to fit in my stang. I Was on break @ work bored..so i started drawing out the box diaphram on a piece of paper behind the demensions wood cuts and port sizes...i plan to get the cuts done @ lowes or home depot. My friend coms up and starts laughing asking why would u even bother building a box. go to best-buy or someplace and just find a box similiar to those demensions for 40 bux. i know..and explained different subs need different boxes, all specs are different..ect..then i thought how much would it be a difference in sound to actually have a BOX built specifly for subs...or just find one similiar? will there be Much difference thats obviose? haha..it still wont deture me from building the box..i plan on doing it this thursday or friday...hence it is my first box i will build gl

yes there will be a HUGE difference, night and day. esp. if its a cheap prefab at best buy, i wouldnt be surprised if its tuned to 50 hz. build your box built to your speakers, that kid is an idiot

I would build your own..you will hear a BIG difference...DON'T get your wood cut at Home depot etc...when my friend got his cut..it was all wrong..

Or...get Baseballer1100, Bjfish,....etc to build you one

gl making the box, you learn alot and its fun.

also some car audio places can custom make the box to your specs,

if you dont have all the tools to build one yourself.
