Building a SQ system noob need advice...

Hi folks, i'm new to the car audio world and i've been lurking around these forums on and off. Anyways, i've wanted to get the Boston g5's but i believe they are discontinued. So now i'm looking into the 2 Boston g2's 10inch @300rms each, box included for $179.99 each at 2ohm. Before I make the move on getting these subs, how are they different from the 12inch subs and also was thinking of the Boston g22 amp but don't know if its best for my subs...maybe the gt24? Need some expert advice to guide me to the right path. Thanks you guys!

Welcome to the wonderful world of car audio. If you want to get the G5's you still can. I run a G-5 myself and it is a beautiful sounding sub with plenty of beef. You can check out the links here such as woofersect.com and pick them up. As far as those G2's you are talking about, that seems to be a good price. It would help us if we knew what kind of budget you are on. I have a nice Alpine mono amp to power my G5 and it works really well. Alpine has solid amps. 12's usually give you a little more bump than 10's. The Nice thing about boston subs at any level are the great sound quality they give you and they are very power efficient! You don't have to have a monster amp to make them pound.

usually good to work from front to back imo.

but if your just letting it all sit until you get it all then i say go with the what you can get great deals on until you have everything you need. you can save more money this way. in time you will stumble across awesome deals. thats how i do it. just wait til i have everything i need then install.
