Building a sound system, what do I need?

Well I think I'll just roll with stinger since that was my original plan. Will I have to get an RCA/blocks/holder/etc.? I just want to order the kit/everything I need to finish up this install/big 3. What exactly do I need?

where are you buying from? we can check their inventory and build a parts list. i'll have to go back to your initial posts to remember what all you're connecting. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

* you also need an enclosure built to spec for the subs - 3/4" MDF or 7-ply wood* you need a 4 awg or 1/0 amp wiring kit from a name brand

* you want split loom for power wire under the hood, and ideally the entire length for all cables

* a pack of black zip ties and zip tie mounts for securing wires in-place

* a board to mount the amp to and hardware to mount the amp to the vehicle. avoid mounting the amp to the box. the reasons are plentiful, trust me... just avoid it.

* a drill and drill bit for making a hole in the floor for grounding, masking tape for defining an area for sand paper for removing paint, and a bolt sized for the grounding ring terminal. make the hole just big enough to run the bolt through.

* a firewall grommet for passing the power wire through the fire wall - and a drill and drill bit (a hole saw bit or step-bit) for making a hole large enough for the 4 awg or 1/0 grommet

* silicone tube to seal the firewall and ground penetrations to the vehicle to inhibit water ingress and rust

* 4 awg or 1/0 ring terminals for your big 3 - 5/16" for most, but 1/4" for the alt positive

* i prefer to mount my amps and subs with t-nuts and machine screws - most reliable method since you can strip out wood screws

* best way to secure ring terminals to large power wire is with a tabletop butane torch and low melting point solder. otherwise, a vice can crimp the connectors.

* i use heat shrink for everything i can. you can buy kits with various sizes at hardware stores. most is 2:1 so buy it as close to the size you need as possible - this means buy a wide range.

these are still valid steps BTW

O nice! I was planning on ordering the stuff off ebay but if you can get discounts that'd be awesome. First of all, i'd like to thank everyone that's been helping me, I couldn't do this without you guys. And second of all, I have a orted enclosure for my two alppine type-r 1234D's with a sundown SAX-1200 amp to ower it all and that's it so far. I'm planning on getting the stinger 0 gauge wiring kit. Any suggestions on what else I should get would be greatly areciated. Thanks again guys.

I don't know if you're using that to hook up an amp as well, but either way.... if you're doing the big 3, you'll just need a run of it around 5-10ft long, with 6 ring terminals, and a fuse holder with a 250amp fuse. So if you're just doing the big 3, you don't need the amp kit at all. If you're using the amp kit to actually hook up an amp, you will be supplied only with what you need for the amp, so you'll still need to make an additional purchase for the big 3.

Ahhh I see, yeah I'll be doing both. Whatt exactly should I get for that? I'm doing the big 3 as well as installing the amp and two subs.
