Building a sound system, what do I need?

3 hours isn't enough time to do a great job, but enough to make it work when finished. Cable routing and terminations should be done well, which takes time. Grounding and power wire routing will take a couple hours to do correctly, sometimes it takes an hour just finding a good path through the firewall. Each vehicle is a new challenge. You don't want something thrown together, so give yourself plenty of time - like a weekend. I could do it in 3 hours if I lowered my standards, which I wouldn't do.

Stinger is decent stuff.

Ah I see, makes sense. If stinger is just "decent stuff" then what wiring/installation kit would you recommend?

I'm extremely confused as to what wiring kit i should get? I'm seeing power watt kits, amp kits, this and that, and i was just curious as to what exactly i should get to install my subs/amp. Thanks!

go with that one. the other fuse holder is huge, i have one in my garage and it won't work under a hood. you want a water-tight fuse holder that is compact.

i like Streetwires, Monster Cable, and Rockford Fosgate amp kits. I've used a dozen other brands, but those are my top 3. people like Knu Konceptz as well.
I see, well out of those three kits which one would you recommend for me? And would it include everything I need to install the subs/amp?

I wouldn't go with the Tsunami kit... that's just me. I would refer to this wire comparison thread for some good references: http://www.caraudio.com/forums/wiring-electrical-installation-help/515724-wire-comparison.htmlKnu wiring is usually a safe bet. I bought some Stinger wiring for my BIG 3 and it's terrific. The Tsunami isn't really worth the price savings. I know they're nice, but it's best to just get it done right in the first place.
I see, I was going to roll with stinger but a friend on this forum told me to roll with the tsunami kit since it comes with the RCA or whatever it's called.

Don't worry about the amp kit too much, they all should do the same thing. KnuKonceptz and Stinger make some of the better kits.

We have the same subs bro, difference is your actually working on installing them haha. Good luck.

there is a big difference between brands. cheaper brands have very poor quality RCA's and wire that isn't true to size. i have some "1/0" tsunami wire in my garage that is NOT 1/0, closer to 2 awg. i have streetwires 1/0 and rockford fosgate 1/0 that is legit. i have DB Link 1/0 that is not legit (closer to 4 awg). they "cheat" by having the same outer diameter but more insulation and less actual wire. sneaky bastages.

i have used recent stinger terminal/blocks/holders, but the stinger wire i have is like 8 years old, so i cannot say for sure what the new stuff is. i can say that streetwires terminals/distribution blocks/fuse holders are better than stinger, in my opinion and experience. i'm picky about the design of those components.
