Building a ported 10w7 box, please check my numbers.

I have a 2002 Extended Cab s10 with a JL 10w7 in their HO box. I like how it sounds, but the thing takes up so much room that I'm going to build my own box for it. I used the calculator on subwoofertools.com and came up with these dimensions. I have figured that the best way for me to use the space is to have the box lay on it's 'back' and have the speaker and port facing the ceiling. Is this a bad idea? Let me know what you think of the design. Also, where should I install the speaker? It doesn't tell you that. I have a Rockford amp on it right now, but will prob bite the bullet and go with a JL 500/1

Link to the design.

If you're just doing that design solely to take up space, that's fine too. I'd suggest that you fire the port either to the side, toward the rear or foward if it's low enough. The sub would probably be better off fired foward or upward. Upward firing ports in trucks sound a little off to my ears..
